Back to Nature | Winter Day Visits
New for Winter 2022… Introducing Back to Nature, specially designed by our in-house Level 3 Forest School Instructor.
Back to Nature is suitable for school children in reception, and key stage 1, and upwards. Your day begins with arrival at between 09:30 – 10:00 (this can be agreed in advance). Following a welcome talk with our fully qualified outdoor instructing staff, your children will be grouped (depending on the total numbers you are booking for) and be led by at least one of our instructors. Each activity session is an hour in length, with provision in between for toilet breaks, and lunch (everyone needs to bring a packed lunch on the day). Departure will usually be between 14:30 – 15:00, but this can be negotiated to suit.
All activities can be adapted to suit older age groups, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Activity programme
Nature walk – identifying trees, including stories and interesting facts.
Shelters & fire lighting – each group of young people will build a small shelter, the perfect size for a fairy or teddy bear. Ideal for reception and KS1 (this can be adapted for older children, if required). The instructor will also run a fire lighting session, using long handled fire steels. You may be lucky to enjoy some freshly cooked popcorn!
Nature scavenger hunt & nature crafts – children look for specific natural resources and return with them, simultaneously searching for the trees they learned about. Nature crafts will also form part of this session and may include tree rubbing, to give just one example, with each child being able to take this home as a memento of their day.

Prices & dates
- The price for the day visit is £30 per child. Non-participating teachers come for free. We are happy to discuss and agree group ratios in advance of your visit, dependent on the age of the children you are planning to bring.
- This product is only available in November, December and January. Therefore, we recommend you get in touch quickly to secure your dates, as bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
