Choose your experience

Rewarding residentials

We know that children and young people visiting Woodrow gain lifelong skills and leave with friendships that stand the test of time. It’s why we do what we do. The benefits go beyond the activities themselves, shaping memories and experiences that last well beyond the trip.

Adventurous day trips

Do you have what it takes to make the leap-of-faith? Can you climb to the top of Jacob’s ladder? Can your team navigate the obstacle course and tunnels to complete the challenge course? Stretch your limits and explore the great outdoors during a day visit.

Revision breaks

At Woodrow, we believe taking time out for fresh air and adventure is the perfect way to recharge during the busy revision period. We can strike the perfect balance between both learning inside and outside of the classroom.

“I would have given it 11 (out of 10) if I could. I loved every second of being here!”

Can I come and take a look?

Yes of course, we’d be pleased to welcome you to Woodrow! If you’re a teacher, youth leader or booking lead, please send an email to hellowoodrow@londonyouth.org and we’ll arrange a convenient time for you to visit. If you’re a parent or young person, do take a look at our virtual tour.

Are there age restrictions on the activities?

We work with young people of all ages, however, all of our activities have a minimum age limit of 5 years old. For some, children must be aged 8 years or older. These include: archery, swimming and Jacob’s Ladder.

Where can I find risk assessments, site maps and activity lists?

You can download all of these documents, and more, on our Useful Downloads page.

Do I need to pack bedding and towels?

You do not need to bring your own bedding, we provide all of this for you. You will however need to ensure you have a towel (or two if your group is swimming). The children will be required to make up their own beds (a great team-building exercise).

I’m a group leader, what will my bedroom be like?

Group leaders share two to a room (two single beds), we do have one triple! We provide all of the bed linen, and ensure your beds are made up for you prior to your arrival. You’ll also get a small kettle, tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided in your room. Oh, and a mint on the pillow.

What does a typical day look like on a residential?

We’ll work with the group leader to design a bespoke activity programme for the residential stay. A typical day starts with breakfast at 7:30am or 8:15am, followed by two morning activities, lunch at 12:30 or 1:15pm, two afternoon activities, dinner served at 5:30 or 6:15pm, and an evening activity which will finish at approximately 9pm – it’s a busy day!

How many activities will my group participate in?

How many activities will my group participate in?This will vary depending on the length of stay. For example two-nights will get up to 9 activities and 1 evening activity and three-nights includes up to 13 activities and 2 evening activities…and so on!
