Decide on a type of residential

Whether it’s for a Year 7 bonding trip, revision break or just to experience life out of the city, our residentials take young people out of their comfort zone and help them to develop confidence, resilience and relationship skills. The knowledge and skills that young people acquire at Woodrow truly are invaluable and are strengthened in an environment away from the classroom.

Choose when to stay

Spring, summer, autumn and winter, we offer everything from short residentials up to longer stays. Some groups choose to start off with a day visit and work their way up to a two, three or four-night stay.

Design your itinerary

100% adventure or a mix of physical challenges, mental stimulation and quiet time: the choice is yours.

We design bespoke programmes with you to suit every type of school or youth organisation, including for young people with additional needs. Our residentials can fit in with your school curriculum planning, or your youth organisation’s objectives. We pride ourselves on delivering outcomes driven experiences, you can see the impact of our work here.

We can be involved as much or as little as you want once you get here: sometimes teachers and youth leaders run their own drama, sports or dance sessions, making us of our fantastic sports centre facilities, while other groups like to combine these with leadership training or some of our outdoor learning activities. Whatever your requirements, we can help you plan and run a truly brilliant residential. No matter how long you stay or how involved you want us to be, our staff are on hand 24/7 while you’re here. Their job is to make every visit an unforgettable one.

Inclusion

Woodrow High House is a fully inclusive centre. We’ve been working with children and young people with additional needs for over 40 years. We support them to achieve personal goals, have incredible experiences and spend time away from home in a different living environment. Each year, over 35 organisations bring young people with additional needs to stay with us.

Before you arrive, our team will discuss the specific needs of your group, and learn more about their objectives. We then create you a perfectly pitched programme of activities.
